Sir David Attenborough and Prof. Johan Rockström provide an excellent review of our current position with respect to climate change and in particular the fact that we are very close to crucial tipping points. Once you get beyond a tipping point, there is no going back. It’s a bit like jumping over a cliff as part of an abseiling challenge. But the outcome in the case of climate change is incredibly scarier than abseiling. They point to the melting of the ice caps, which helps to keep the planet cool. They reference research which shows that the Amazon rainforests are being decimated, which will mean millions of tonnes of Carbon Dioxide being emitted into the atmosphere. But they say we can fix it. Look at this on Youtube.
