On November 7th 2022 Save Our Shropshire ran a one-day workshop for the general public to coincide with the start of the global “Conference of Parties” COP27. It was part of a series of meetings, the last of which was COP26 held in Glasgow. It established a commitment to help smaller countries deal with the costs of climate change.

We ran this in conjunction with the Carbon Literacy Project, whoorganised the day across the globe with a number of training organisations as part of their annual event which they called “Carbon Literacy Action Day”

The course detailed why we should take action, how to take action, and how to engage family and friends in taking action.

Delegates who wanted to get a certificate completed an assessment which included two pledges – one related to a personal ambition, and another related to a group activity. Four people with SOS CIO (out of 441 across the globe) have now been awarded their certificates including the following from Alastair Pack. Congratulations also to Charmaine Briscoe, Mark Foxall, and Tim Powell.

Our next scheduled Housholders’ course is 8,15, and 22nd February.
