Summary

Queen Camilla will meet Save Our Shropshire on Wednesday 27th March at the formal opening of the Flaxmill Maltings centre.

Queen Camilla will be opening the Flaxmills site on Wednesday 27th March, after a visit to the Shrewsbury Town Centre. During her visit, she will meet several groups at the site, including Save Our Shropshire CIO. We will have a special stand there.

We will be able to introduce her to our education and training activities and emphasise the connection to the Carbon Literacy Project. As the Queen will also be visiting Shrewsbury Town Centre, so do visit the town to see her pay a visit to the Famer’s market in the centre.

There will be several groups there to greet Queen Camilla.

The Shrewsbury Flax-mill Maltings site is an Historic England flagship heritage regeneration project, and home to eight listed buildings. Historic England worked with partners and funders to renovate the site and manage the buildings and ongoing restoration whilst a trading company looked after the day-to-day visitor experience.

The Queen will tour the restored site before meeting volunteers from local groups such as ‘The Repair Café’ who will be conducting a mini repair session; Shrewsbury Food Hub, Shrewsbury Interfaith Forum, Save Our Shropshire, and Shropshire Supports Refugees.
